Digging Into History – the next chapter

Côte de York-town à Boston:Marches de l’armée. [1782] Map. https://www.loc.gov/item/gm71002181/.

We are excited to announce that we are working on the next chapter of this exciting program! As long as COVID allows, we’ll be welcoming our friends from France to Connecticut to explore a different aspect of the Franco-American (and Franco-Connectican) relationship. We’ll be jumping back almost 250 years to the American Revolution and the French Army’s march through Connecticut! Under the leadership of the comte de Rochambeau, thousands of French soldiers (and even a few families) marched from Newport to Yorktown in the summer of 1781. Digging Into History 2023 will explore this march and do some work at a site (or sites) along the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route! So stay tuned!
